Math and Computer Science department

In the Math and Computer Science department, you will study and explore the latest technology trends and theories to make you marketable in today’s industry. Our department provides the knowledge, skills, and discipline within in-demand fields to expose you to various specialties in the research and technical career sector.

Our Computer Science Undergraduate Program has been accredited by ABET Accreditation ( ABET, formerly known as the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.).

Also, our Mathematics Graduate Program is a Member of the American Mathematical Society.

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department offers the following degree programs:

1. Baccalaureate in Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science.

2. Baccalaureate in Science (B.S.) degree in Mathematics and its concentration on Data Science

3. Baccalaureate in Science (B.S.) degree in Math Education (Math Secondary Education)

4. Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer and Information Science
The graduate program has an emphasis on the following areas:

  • Cyber Security
  • Database Management
  • Programming Languages

5. Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Secondary Education with an Endorsement in Mathematics
This program is offered jointly with the Department of Education and Psychology at Alcorn State University.

In addition, the department offers mathematics instruction to undergraduate students in all disciplines and computer science courses to students in majors that require computer skills.
