Learn to Decorate Using ‘Pot People’
Do you like to decorate using unique items?
Then attend a Make or Take Do It Yourself ‘Pot People” demonstration workshop on May 4, 2016 at the Jefferson County Multi-Purpose Building, 307 South Main St., Fayette, Mississippi. The workshop, sponsored by the Alcorn State University Extension Program, will be facilitated by Jardana Brice, family and consumer sciences (FCS) educator.
The workshop will offer topics on décor on a budget, money saving tips and beating retail prices.
Participants must bring the following items to the workshop: two six or eight inch pots for the head and body, 12 mini-pots or eight three inch pots for the arms and legs, and one bushel of artificial flowers.Plants can be purchased later if you prefer. The items can be new or recycled.
“Easy ‘do-it-yourself’ projects are the best cheap solutions to decorating your home and around the house when you are trying to conserve your finances,” said Brice. Quoting Samuel Johnson, she adds, “A man who both spends and saves money is the happiest man, because he has both enjoyments.”
