Taea Jackson officially crowned the 94th Miss Alcorn State University
The queen of Alcorn State University was officially enthroned into the University’s royal history during its annual crowning ceremony.
The coronation of Taea Jackson, the 94th Miss Alcorn State University, was held Thursday, March 4, in the James L. Bolden Ballroom. A limited number of family and friends were in attendance to celebrate Jackson’s milestone.
Serving the student body amid the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for Jackson, but she feels that her tenure has improved her leadership skills.
“Although it has been a challenge serving as Miss Alcorn during a pandemic, it has been incredibly fulfilling,” said Jackson. “This year has molded me into a stronger leader. Leading in the face of adversity is difficult, but the lessons I’ve learned are valuable. After this year, I am confident that I will be able to endure challenges that I may face in my personal and professional lives.”
Plans for community outreach and assisting fellow Alcornites are still on Jackson’s agenda. One of her passions is being there to help and support others in their endeavors.
“I plan to read to students in Jefferson County during Dr. Suess Week. Also, I am continuing in assisting with plans for Braves Fest as well as events hosted by the Royal Court.”
As Jackson’s tenure nears its end, she reflects on those who have supported her through it all. She thanks them for their encouraging words of motivation.
“Thank you for not only believing in me to serve in this capacity but also constantly reminding and motivating me to improve. I am so proud to serve as your 94th Miss Alcorn State University.”
