Alcorn faithful gather for fun and food at the All For One Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign kickoff
Alcorn State University faculty, staff and students came out to enjoy a day of food, fun and entertainment for a good cause.
The Office of Institutional Advancement kicked off its annual All For One Giving Campaign on the campus green Friday, March 23. The Campaign’s purpose is to gain support from employees for the overall growth and advancement of the University through giving.
Rosemary Hicks, director of Advancement Services and Annual Fund and campaign manager, believes that the campaign is an ideal opportunity for faculty and staff to assist Alcorn’s students with pursuing their education.
“This campaign is a great way for faculty and staff to invest in the University’s students,” said Hicks. “We understand the value in a college education, so it’s paramount that we give back to our students to ensure that they fulfill their academic dreams.”
The campaign is also a way for faculty and staff to give back to the University. Hicks explained the importance of employee support.
“The University provides many enrichment opportunities for faculty and staff that include professional and personal development. So this campaign is a great way for employees to invest in the institution that’s willing to invest in their empowerment.”
Jerri Jackson, who serves as an admission counselor, applauds the efforts to solicit support from employees.
“This campaign shows that as employees, we’re here to give back to the place that gives to us,” said Jackson. “Not only does Alcorn give to me as an employee, but also as an alumni. It starts with us, and this statement speaks volumes. Employees set the tone for giving back.”
Eddie Johnson, a junior and mass communication major, appreciates the help from Alcorn employees.
“Employees play a large role in determining the future and continued development of Alcorn,” said Johnson. “The employee donations support scholarships and funding for deserving students who don’t have enough funds to cover tuition.”
