Alcorn State University School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences (AREAS) hosted representatives of Bunge Global Agribusiness and Bunge North America November 8, 2013. Bunge met with faculty, staff and students to learn more about the University’s historic agriculture and business programs. The visit was collaborated by the School of Business and the School of AREAS.
Bunge representatives also made a special presentation to Alcorn students in the Ray Johnson Assembly Center of the Extension and Research Complex. Following the student program, the School of AREAS and the School of Business made a joint presentation to Bunge during a faculty and staff only luncheon in the Ag Assembly Room of the Morris-Boykin Agricultural Science Building.
Representing Bunge Global Agribusiness were Alonzo Dority, director of Financial Risk Management, and Gail Stamm, regional human resources manager with Bunge North America.
“We have been engaging in school specific corporate development strategies over the last few months, and were pleased to welcome Bunge to Alcorn share about our business and agriculture programs in particular,” said Marcus Ward, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “We look forward to exploring career, research and other partnership opportunities between Alcorn, the oldest historically black land-grant institution in the nation, and Bunge, one of the leading agribusiness and food production companies in the world.”
