Men’s Tennis to face Mississippi State in first round of NCAA Tournament

Alcorn State, MS—The Alcorn State Men’s Tennis Team will face Mississippi State in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament that will be held in Starkville, MS. 

The Braves will compete on Friday, May 11th at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre on campus with a 2 pm start.

Head Coach, Anthony Dodgen was named 2012 SWAC Men’s Coach of the Year while Garry Amor received Tournament MVP Honors.  Ernesto Santillan and Winfried Weinbeer were named to the All-Tournament Team.  Prior to the SWAC Tournament, Alcorn State swept first team honors in the category of doubles in the SWAC. Weinbeer, Lidzar, Amor and Tkachenko earned SWAC All-Conference first team honors in singles.

The Braves are back to back SWAC Champs and have claimed the SWAC Crown eight times.
