Alcorn’s Division of Marketing and Communication wins College Public Relations Association of Mississippi Awards
The Alcorn State University Division of Marketing and Communication was recognized for their dedication to producing quality content at this year’s College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) Conference in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
The Division competed in three categories and won awards in each category. Alcorn took home two Senior Division category first place awards, one in the Sports Media Guide for the “Celebration Bowl Media Guide” and another in the View book for “Be Brave. Go Further.”, an admissions recruitment guide. Alcorn placed third in the Special Publications Senior Division category for “Alcorn, the University’s magazine.”
The conference, which was held at Gulf Hills Hotel and Conference Center, was an event that focused on conquering media challenges and strategies for media success at Mississippi’s public and private colleges and universities.
Vice president for the Division, Clara Ross Stamps, and staff writer, Justus Reed, represented the University at the conference. Stamps applauded her team for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
“We are fortunate that we have great students, alumni, faculty and staff stories to position in the most competitive mediums,” Stamps said as she congratulated her small, but highly talented team. “We love sharing Alcorn’s great news and happenings — it’s a labor of love and creative fun for us.”
In his first time attending the CPRAM Conference, Reed was named a CPRAM Conference board member. His duties as a board member will include discussing ideas that would make the annual conference better. Reed looks forward to the opportunity to serve.
“Becoming a CPRAM board member will be a valuable learning experience for me,” said Reed. “I look forward to working toward enhancing the conference and learning more about Mississippi’s public relations industry.”
