“I’m very excited about being in my new role,” said Posey. “It’s an exciting challenge to be able to work at a university of this size in a rural area. We have lots of land, beautiful buildings and historic structures here on this amazing campus. I enjoy the task of making this campus more energy efficient while preserving historic structures.”

After years of accumulating knowledge and experience at a community college, Posey wanted to showcase his skills at the university level.

“I really wanted to work for a university. I’ve experienced the community college atmosphere for years, so being able to transition to a bigger university is an opportunity that I’m thrilled about. This opportunity allows me to take my experience and skills I’ve gained at a community college to another level.”

The people of Alcorn have made a great impression on Posey. So far, he’s received a warm and friendly welcome from his colleagues.

“I really love the atmosphere here at Alcorn. Everyone seems to be very friendly. I’ve been pleased with the chance to meet the people on campus. Everyone gets along with each other. This is a good group of people to work with. We have a great staff that is capable of getting things done.”
