John Stomps to speak at Alcorn School of Business event

Alcorn State University’s School of Business is starting a monthly series where professionals from various fields will come and speak to students about the corporate world.

The School’s Executive Speaker Series will begin Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. in room 1340 in the Biotechnology Building. John Stomps, president and CEO of Total Transportation of Mississippi, LLC, will be the series’ first keynote speaker.

Stomps’ speech will focus on his company and career opportunities for students in supply chain management and logistics.

Stomps founded Total Transportation of Mississippi, LLC in 1990. His executive leadership responsibilities include overseeing all functions of Total Transportation and encouraging excellence in each department. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. He currently serves as chairman for the Mississippi Trucking Association Board of Directors. He’s also involved with the American Trucking Association’s efforts to improve the image of the trucking industry.
