Alcorn’s Dr. Akash Dania of the School of Business chairs the accreditation site review team at Taylor University

Dr. Akash Dania, director of the Graduate Business Programs and an associate professor of finance at Alcorn State University, accepted an invitation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs to serve as the Chair of the external site-visit team to review Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.

Serving the accrediting body and member institutes, Dania traveled Sunday, Oct. 2 to chair and participate in Taylor University’s on-site visit review and initial accreditation of its business programs by the ACBSP. The site-visit team reviewed the self-study, reviewed business academic programs, conducted interviews with key stakeholders, and made recommendations to the ACBSP Board of Commissioners on the institute’s academic preparation.

“It was an honor to chair the site team and continuing to serve ACBSP and its mission to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world,” said Dania.

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is a leading specialized accreditation body for business education that supports, celebrates and rewards teaching excellence. The association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and emphasizes to students that it is essential to learn. Currently, a select 2,983 business programs worldwide have ACBSP accreditation. The School of Business at Alcorn and its programs are accredited by ACBSP.
