Alcorn announces 2014 SWAC Champion Fan Rings Program
Alcorn State University is offering alumni and fans the opportunity to purchase 2014 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Football Championship Rings, Pendants and Lapel Pins to commemorate the historic 2014 Football Season. The merchandise is available for sale now through June 10, 2015.
The Alcorn State University Braves Football Team won the 2014 SWAC Championship in storybook fashion by defeating the Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge Jaguars in a 38-24 victory Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The win marked the tenth SWAC Championship title and the first victory in a SWAC Championship Game for the Braves. It was also the first time in the football program's history that the team has won ten games in a season, ending their campaign with a 10-3 record.
The Braves wrapped up the season ranked 1st in the nation in the Sheridan Broadcasting Network, Heritage Sports Radio Network, American Urban Radio Network and Box-to-Row sports media polls and were overwhelmingly crowned 2014 Black College Football National Champions for the first time in thirty years. Proud alums, fans and friends have an opportunity to own a piece of history and share in this memorable season by purchasing a ring, pendant or lapel pin of their choice.

The collection offers every Braves fan the chance to claim their piece of history," said Marcus Ward, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
The rings, pendants and lapel pins come in non-precious, yellow alloy gold or white alloy gold and are identical in design to those awarded to the 2014 Alcorn State University Braves Football Team, coaches and staff. Additionally, all items allow personalization including the option to have the purchaser's last name die-cut on the side of the ring above the Alcorn State football helmet and their full name engraved on the underside of the ring and the back of the pendant and lapel pin. All pendants come with an 18-inch gold chain. A portion of the purchase will go towards the Athletics Champions Fund to support university athletics championship needs.
