Alcorn Announces Parking Update for Saturday’s Football Game
Due to continuous rain in the area, Alcorn State University announced a revised parking plan for Saturday’s football game against Miles College at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.
The newly constructed RV Park has not been cleared for University use. Although it is in its final stages, the park requires a full day without rain for electrical testing, which has not been available. The contractors and engineers are working expeditiously to have it ready as soon as possible.
RV parking will be moved to Willie May Latham-Taylor Park, located at the front entrance of campus. In the event that additional space is needed, the lot of the Extension/Research Complex will be utilized.
Due to wet grounds, Alcorn will exercise all of its paved parking and avoid the grass. Therefore, the University advises drivers to use caution when parking on the edge of ASU Drive and not to park beyond the edges. Tailgaters may set up on the grass, but vehicles must remain on the pavement.
With the new lot in its closing stages, construction zones are visible but not available for parking.
Inside Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium, cushioned stadium seats were placed in the reserved section as a courtesy to the fans last year. Alcorn is still awaiting the total shipment of the seats and will utilize them later this season.
Alcorn is working progressively to improve the game day experience for its fans. The University respectfully asks that its fans pardon its progress, and acknowledge the patience as it works toward its goals.
