Be Prepared in an Emergency

In today’s society, security has become a major focus of concern for universities, administrators and law enforcement. Although they do as much as possible to ensure the safety of the University, each individual is ultimately responsible for his/her own safety. Working together as a “University Team”, establishing and following emergency procedures, diligently observing routine safety precautions and reporting unsafe or suspicious conditions or activities, we can maintain a safe, secure campus.

This Emergency Operation Plan is intended to establish the plan of action and rules of conduct for those situations which happen unexpectedly and are beyond our control. This plan is a template that provides for flexible response to any situation. We cannot overemphasize the importance of common sense and good judgment in preventing, responding to or avoiding an emergency situation. However, it is equally important that emergency procedures be widely known and consistently followed to avoid chaos and facilitate orderly resolution and restoration.
